Crow Mountain Orchard now has Granny Smith apples and Arkansas Black apples.
Granny Smith are a crisp, tart, green apple that holds its shape well and is good for cooking and pies. Granny Smith will only be available at the orchard salesroom, not the farmers markets.
The Arkansas Black are the hardest apple available and so dark red they almost look black. We only have a few bags of Arkansas Black, so they won’t last long. Call the orchard before you go for them, 256-437-9254. We don’t have enough to sell them at the farmers markets.
This is what is available now at the orchard. Not all varieties or all sizes are available at the various farmers markets we attend.
- Fresh Apple Cider
- Granny Smith Apples
- Rome Apples (limited quantities. Call before you go to orchard.)
- Arkansas Black Apples (limited quantities. Call before you go to orchard.)
- Winesap Apples
- Mutsu Apples
- Red Delicious Apples
- Gold Delicious Apples
- Jonagold Apples
- Jonathan Apples
- Muscadine Grapes (Gold only, almost gone. Call orchard before you go.)
The salesroom is open 7 days a week, 8 to 5, at 6236 C.R. 39, Fackler, AL. Bring cash or a check–we don’t accept debit or credit cards. Call us during business hours if you have any questions at 256-437-9254.
Granny Smith will not be taken to the markets. That’s what I was told today.
Thanks, Barb. I will add it to the post. Let me know if that changes.
Do you know if you will have any King Lush this year. we were planning a trip and wanted to stop by to pick up some. If not, what other apple would you suggest similar?
Darlene, I just found out that some King Lusk have been picked. I thought they were done, but I was wrong. They don’t have many, so you may want to call before you go to the orchard. 256-437-9254
