Red and Gold Delicious and Jonagold Apples Available!

Red and Gold Delicious and Jonagold apples are  customer favorites. This is the very best time to buy them. They are wonderful eating apples. Gold Delicious and Jonagold can be used for cooking. Several customers who do not cook with sugar use the Gold Delicious for cooking since they are naturally sweet.

If you have not tried the Jonagold, I recommend it to anyone who loves the Honeycrisp apples. They are crisp and have a similar sweet/tart flavor.

We hope to have fresh cider in one to two weeks.

If you dehydrate fruit, make sure you try drying the Spartlett pears. Dried pears have a more intense pear taste and sweetness that makes them great for a healthy snack. My favorite use for them is to add them to oatmeal which naturally sweetens it.

  4. So disappointed! Got up early so I could stop at GSV farmer’s market and buy some Jonagolds. He did not have any. Said I would have to go to the orchard. It is very difficult when a person works to get way up there to your orchard.

    • We are sorry we didn’t have what you wanted at the farmers market this week. We are limited in what we can carry to the 13 market visits we make each week which reduces the varieties and sizes available compared to what is available at the orchard. The orchard salesroom is open 7 days a week throughout the season in an attempt to make it convenient for our customers, but understand it is a difficult trip for some to make.
